On Nov.10th, the century-old Italian couture brand Curiel held her “History and Future” grand opening ceremony in Shanghai Citic Square. This is the first time Curiel exhibits historical couture collection in China, letting Chinese customers explore the most gorgeous and splendid pearl among all the Italian high fashion and luxury by tracing back to its root, announcing the start of the brand’s new age.
The night, near 200 political and business dignitaries, international artists, Chinese top press journalists and fashion opinion leaders were invited and attended Curiel “History and Future” grand opening ceremony. Consul Maria Ludovica Murazzani of Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, Director of Italian Trade Agency in Shanghai Mr. Massimiliano Tremiterra, Italian Opera diva Ms. Lucia Alberti, General Manger of Citic Squre in Shanghai Mr. Zhu Peiliang，the third and fourth generation heir of Curiel brand Mrs. Raffaella Curiel and Mrs. Gigliola Curiel, President of Redstone Haute Couture Mr. Zhao Yizheng, Curiel Brand CEO Mr. Pan Wenyu，all attended personally to witness the historic moment.

“History and Future" exhibition is produced by Giuseppe Silvestrin, one of the most famous Italian fashion event curators, and his team from Milan, extending the concept presented during Milan Fashion Week in September 2016, sublimating the indissoluble bond between Curiel and La Scala. Curiel Shanghai CITIC Flagship’s grand facade was transformed to the world’s most beautiful opera house's entrance, with guests ascending the stairs, as if time was pulled back to the golden times of Italian couture and La Scala in the 1950s and 1960s.
Through the gate of time and space, guests come to the site of Curiel "History and Future" Exhibition, entering Curiel's vast and fascinating river of history and the aesthetic world. The exhibition was divided to four areas, telling the graceful couture epic poetry connected by four themes in Curiel's 120-year history. "Art Dresses" part displayed timeless couture pieces integrated with art works, and Curiel did such integration as a pioneer: from Picasso to Klimt, from Tchaikovsky to Proust, the unique masterpieces in the art history have been revealed by Curiel's delicate silhouettes, tailoring skills inherited by generations as well as classic color philosophy. "La Scala" brought couture dresses noble ladies wore on opening night of la Scala in the golden age of 20th century that Italian economy and culture thrived. At that time, a Curiel dress was a must-have for ladies of note to attend opera house. The elegant and colorful formal dress added radiance and beauty to each other with fine jewelry, leaving breathtaking images of the European social circle. Exhibition area of "Green and Black" theme devotes itself to a series of couture dresses with skilled eastern embroidery. While in "White" theme exhibition area, the wedding dresses designed for the royal family and aristocrats in history were displayed in China for the first time. The exhibition is not only a fascinating journey of Curiel history with magnificent couture dresses, which is also a praise to Curiel's 120-year couture legend.
